For a variety of reasons I prefer blinds over drapes. While custom blinds can be just a bit more expensive than blinds that are already pre-made, they are still less expensive than custom drapes. They are also much easier to clean in most cases and with my home with the pets? We need to replace two of our ceiling fans — one quit working completely and one is in a state of permanent imbalance no matter what we do to try to fix it. Right now duct tape is on one side to make the horrid squealing noise a quiet irritant rather than an intolerable one. When you don’t have air conditioning, ceiling fans do really a much better job than window fans in keeping the temperature tolerable.

I can honestly say I have not picked up an iron in years, with the exception of using one for an arts and craft project. Items that are prone to wrinkles, I make sure come out of the dryer promptly and are hung up. Saving myself the chore of ironing that I once hated since from an early age my mother had me ironing, starting out with my father’s handkerchiefs, which I never saw the purpose in ironing given he actually used them. One of the things I like best about the beginning of fall is I get to wear my favorite red boots, I’ve always been a “boot” person, the current favorite red pair has managed to survive two falls and two winters. Once upon a time I actually had promotional calenders for one of my other blogs. I actually designed them as a joke one night and discovered that people actually liked the design (it was a cartoon drawing of me) and people actually ordered it. While one of the t-shirt designs was a more popular selling item, over 50 people who read the blog ordered the calendar. It goes to show you that even for blogs? People like calendars and I’m sure if I offered one for free? Even more would want one.

It is supposedly the latest fashion, according to these photos on CNN. If consumer is really king? Perhaps the goal should be to have clothing that real people would actually wear in public?

I checked out most of the photos, and very few of the items are ones that the average woman would be able to wear. Even the Six hot fahion week trends (I’m guessing they meant “fashion”) made me laugh. Shorts with tights? Yeah, that’s a smart move.

When I saw the name, I assumed at first it was a social effort, I knew that Free People could not be literally, free people. Since you don’t give people away for free (smile). What I found out is it is a clothing line, and they actually have some pretty neat items. I spent quite a bit of time looking through the many different items for sale, the only down side appeared to be many of the items currently on sale were not close to my size but? There could be the next time.

Two of my daughters are convinced our house has a ghost in it. They pointed as proof that the light fixtures in the house flicker at times. One light in particular they felt was a problem, and there was a problem. Yet it was not ghost related, it was a simple matter of screwing in the light bulb just a little bit tighter…One thing I’ve discovered with the longer use bulbs, for some reason they do come lose from time to time. Which means no hauntings…just simple electronics…
